Hands down the best pediatrician! My 3 boys have been seeing her since they were babies. She has gone above and beyond time and time again! She has contacted the school board on my behalf to help get my son the IEP & 504 plan that he needed, she wrote letters, she helped me fight! She saw my struggles as a single mom going monthly with 3 kids to get adderall so they can focus in school. At the time (roughly 10 years ago ) you had to be seen monthly and you were handed a written prescription for adderall, I would have to take off work to go, then hand the script to CVS & wait for them to tell me if they had any in stock- if they didn’t , I was not allowed (supposedly by law) to know when they would get more or if they would and I couldn’t ask over the phone because that was not allowed either. My middle son, who is autistic and ADHD and Dr. Champoux helped me fight for his IEP & 504 in school, saw my tears especially the day my son was in 2nd grade and I got a call from the school nurse saying my son insists he has a “concussion “ (he is very smart) , apparently he was so upset because he had to go to school without meds and he knew he would end up in trouble because the meds helped him focus and stay calm- otherwise he would do crazy things in class and get in trouble, and he tried to bang his head against the poll in the courtyard to give himself a concussion so he didn’t have to go to class without meds.
Dr. Champoux made phone calls and wrote letters, and the law we have now is all due to her diligence as a pediatrician, going above and beyond, and changing the law for adderall and “narcotics “ to every 3 months to be seen for “med checks” and be able to get 3 prescriptions at a time (and I can’t remember if it was her or not but we now are able to send those scripts electronically). This woman changed my life and it literally brings tears to my eyes! She is amazing. She is more than a pediatrician to me! My boys are now moving on from a pediatrician to a regular doctor because they are all getting to be over 18 and my heart breaks. My oldest son literally cried- he is 20. He hugged her and cried because he didn’t want to say goodbye. If you want a great, amazing, pediatrician, Dr. Champoux is the one. & I didn’t even tell you ALL the things she did for us, just a few. There are few doctors who give their heart and soul like she does. She is a genuine soul!
