Based on my $1200 experience with Brickman I would never recommend to anyone. His sole purpose is to avoid adding another case in the system regardless of the children involved and couldn’t care less. Not sure how else he is compensated. He spent over 8 hours trying to drill in me how settling would be so much better than going to court because I would fail. He is not a child psychologist by any means and should not be trying to push cases to settle involving DCF. Claims to be unbiased but He even joked about other upcoming cases involving the same attorneys, I would never recommend especially if children are involved.

Matthew Brickman was very nice, however I didn't feel that anything more was accomplished than what the attorneys can do without the mediator and the high cost of mediation, $825 in total for three hours not including the cost to have my attorney present. It was all virtual and we were never in the same "chat room". My attorney & I were in one "room" and my ex and his attorney were in a different "room" with Matthew going back and forth between us. I anticipated all parties would be together and that myself and my ex could attempt to agree on important matters "face to face" while perhaps the mediator and/or attorneys intervened as/if necessary. This was my first mediation and perhaps I didn't have the right expectations. Overall, I was very disappointed and felt as though absolutely nothing was accomplished at mediation. At times I also felt that Matthew was somewhat biased towards the other party; the other party had chosen Matthew as the mediator.

Matthew Brickman did an amazing job! Not only did he write up the mediation agreement real time while helping my ex wife and I to negotiate details in the midst of a flood of emotions, but she and I left his office able to have a decent conversation again. He sent the attorney's out of the room, and we hashed things out in a very short time. He is truly a peacemaker, and has shown to be the best at what he does! I would not only recommend him, I would insist that others use him to help them in this difficult time!

Mr. Brickman is a professional, fair and incredibly experienced mediator. During my meditation process he made clear to both parties of the options available to us. His relaxed but reassuring attitude allowed me to feel comfortable and clear headed to make the best decisions during the divorce process. I cannot RAVE enough about Matthew Brickman. I am 100% sure, if we had been with any other person, it would have taken more than one session to come to an agreement. Matthew is extremely patient, very kind, extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping facilitate two people going through a really difficult time in making some major life decisions. I could not imagine going through this process without his expertise. I thought it didn't really matter WHO we mediated with. I was proven wrong after this experience. I have zero regrets. Have nothing but amazing things to say about him!

Matthew was the mediator for my divorce. Before my mediation Matthew was more than helpful in answering all of my questions. He was extremely professional. Very helpful in explaining options for us. I loved the fact that he did everything at the appointment. All my documents were ready and signed minutes after we were finished in mediation. Going into mediation I really didn't expect much to be resolved. My ex and I had met prior to mediation and within 10 minutes it was about to be a blood bath, so mediation seemed useless. Matthew Brickman is kind and approachable. He explains things in a way that is easy to understand and grasp. He has wonderful suggestions that favor all parties involved. The entire process of mediation was very painless all because of Mr Brickman! After signing our mediation agreement my ex and I hugged and congratulated each other on it all being over. We're planning on dinner tomorrow night together with our daughter and current spouses. Thank you Matthew for a job well done and helping to repair what could've been devastatingly damaged.
