I gave them things like a log splitter that was a manual machine I quit using. It was for the people to process all the wood I've brought in. They sent it to a donation and it disappeared.
Staff don't always know what's going on over there. The people at camp hope don't really want to help.
Most of the ones at camp hope are just looking for a handout and not self motivated.
Drugs are a big reason you smoke fentanyl then expect it to ruin your cognitive thinking and your ability to make good decisions.
The problem with society is they just want them gone but they have nowhere to go. The State has made them into dependents, giving them promises they can't keep telling them they have housing and there is none.
Lies from the State lies from the agencies leave people feeling hopeless. Making all drugs legal turning a blind eye to the drug use.

Love this place; the staff is nice. If you need somewhere to go and get away from whatever situation you're in, come here.

You can sleep in the tent or dormitory if you’ve been here for a few weeks.

They feed you at 6 o’clock every day; just don’t be late.

The curfew is 8:30, but if you work, you can be out as long as you need; just call.

5 stars for me really helped me A LOT mentally from my previous living situation.

When you come here, you’ll notice everyone has their own group. Sometimes, nobody talks to you, which is fine.

I actually like this place and theie mission. I originally ended up homeless in Yakima. I now do full time on the road ministry for those with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (diagnosed) unable to use the shelter system.

In my home area updating liscence and van registration hoping the police don't bug me. Camp Hope and the Mission won't let me into the building, justifiable so, as anaphylaxic shock from needed cleaners and bleach is guaranteed.

My only advice for this great program is considering speaking to me again on "safe parking options" for those with MCAS. I understand the insurance issues, but multiple shelters in multiple other cities have working with Disciples in the Desert created alternatives.

This is a safe place for those unfortunate enough to develop into homelessness. A sad situation is made more comfortable with a bed, bathroom/shower, case managers, staff, no weapons, no drugs and a daily provided dinner. People’s basic needs need to be provided so they can maintain civility and eventually return to production. This is so necessary as without it people would be limited to a parking lot or under bridges.

I never been there but was hoping to go there to get out of the south prolonged high heat index, but when I had 3 emotional support German Shepherds, I was told they only allow 2 dogs. Now I have 2 German Shepherds I was told they only allow 1 dog. I guess I won't be heading to Washington state before summer after all.

This place has been a tremendous blessing to my family of 8. We were staying in the woods, in the snow, in a RV with no power. I know some people have a negative mindset about this place but in my experience here, Mike is doing an amazing thing here! I have not seen any drug activity and there is no alcohol allowed. And if there's ever an issue, the staff is on top of it, maintaining the safety of the people living here. They serve us a warm meal, provide a clean shower facility and keep up the bathrooms. This holiday season, Mike, the staff and the yakima police department purchased every child and teenager brand new bikes, helmets, and bike locks along with an abundance of toys for the kids and also presents for the adults. I'm so thankful for this place. The staff and gusts are so welcoming and all look out for each other. Now my family has stability so that dad and I can start working to get back on our feet after being chronically homeless since the beginning of the pandemic, when my husband lost his job ♡

I was there back in February of 2020 until March of 2020.
I was going through some relationship problems and I found myself in Yakima during that time.
It felt like I was the only person there who was not on drugs but there are tons of people who were not on drugs. You meet all types of people there who you can relate with. At night you get to be around the warm camp fire and gaze up at the stars. They feed you and if you don’t make it there for dinner they always have sandwiches just in case. They treat all people the same. I made a few friends here. We hung out talked about life laughed and had actual fun. It made me forget about how bad life was for myself at that certain time. I left right before COVID hit and wow what a relief. In conclusion this place will do their best to help those who need it and want it.
I’m blessed to say how great these people were and they are doing an amazing job. Best wishes for all going through life’s struggles you got it!
