Straight off, I have never rented a SUP from here. I go to the "Gravel Ponds" at Chatfield very regularly. I see these folks running the rental trailer. They seem friendly and the customers always seem happy. They quietly operate from shore and do a great job of getting people set up and going, without getting in the way too much.

If you haven't been to the ponds in Chatfield state park, they are separate bodies of water from the main reservoir, therefore you don't have to deal with the constant mini waves from the boaters. No boats are allowed in the ponds. Very chill place, right next to the foothills. Perfect for the beginning paddleboarder.

Had a great time on the lake but once the day was over and I noticed multiple charges on my card from the company. I tried reaching out and getting support on disputing this error. But sadly was only greeted with dis-kindness and aggression as well as awful customer service from a representative of the name Jennifer.
Make sure when you check out with these folks you receive a receipt and the managers name and number of the location you’re renting from

We were guests at the lake, and didn't hire 5280 Paddle Sports, but we spent some amount of time watching the employees take great care of their customers. They seem very attentive, and the equipment looks newer and well-maintained. As an observer, I would feel good hiring them.

We went kayaking as a group. It was overall a good experience but there wasn't a lot of kayaking to do as this was an open lake, and not a very big one. We were able to go from one end to another in about 40 minutes even though we paid for 2 hours. The other side of this particular lake had trees that you could maneuver through and seemed like it would have been more fun and lasted longer, but overall, not too bad.

5280 is the Best!!! Great boards, best price on rentals, they quickly show you what’s up and get you on the water! Easy to reserve a board online, super cool staff these guys really have it down! Have one of the best price point boards in the industry with their Elevate inflatables! Great price on super boards if looking to buy! I’m an avid SUP paddler, very experienced, get around 80 days a year on the water! Thanks 5280!

New location in Colorado Springs! I’m super excited about this company operating conveniently in town. No need for a state park pass because Prospect Lake is open to the public. Overall, great experience and friendly environment. I will definitely be going again!
