Friends of the Children is a very great program. I’ve been in the program for 10 years. My mentor Mr. Ken is one of the best mentors because he teaches us many things like being kind and staying calm in a stressful situation. He’s very good at his job and understands it.

My foster child has had his "friend" since he was 5 years old. Mr. Ken has been and continues to be a blessing. I am a widow, so the need for a male role model, friend and confidant were needed. Ken has exceeded my expectations and hopes. I can only base my opinion on our experience, but I would strongly recommend Friends of The Children to everyone who has a child in need. My child had no parental involvement once he was placed with me and had rather traumatic experiences involving his parent when younger. Mr. Ken has been a stabilizing, caring adult in his life. Helping him with school and social challenges. As we are now dealing with new challenges as a teenager, it is wonderful to not have to face these years by ourselves. I wish more judges were aware of this wonderful resource for the children that pass through their courts. The long-term commitment makes a huge difference.

Great program for youth. Fun activities, school, and therapy aspects... the friends step in to fill the gaps for the children they serve. Mr. Ken is our mentor and he has made a huge impact with my son

Wonderful organization with wonderful mentors, especially Ken, who cares so much about his kids and their families. He spends the time building trust and friendship, helps set goals, assist with school work, encourage, guide, model, support and cheer them on in every aspect, all to help them succeed at life. Friends definitely makes a positive impact on the lives of their youth and families. Thank you!

Friends of the Children is a dynamic program and has played such a crucial role not only in my nephews life, but in the life of our entire family. Mr. Ken has gone above and beyond in his mentorship. He has showed up for our family in ways that I couldn’t imagine; physically and emotionally. Fantastic organization that strives to break the cycle of generational poverty....one child at a time! The Friends are amazing and work with their youth one-on-one to form meaningful and rich relationships starting in Kindergarten and lasting through high school graduation....12.5 years, no matter what!
